CAPMATIC Ltd was founded in 1964 by Mr. Lavinio Bassani in Milano, Italy. He began his work as a packaging designer and builder, by building semi-automatic machines in a small shop. During the course of his first year as an independent company, Mr. Bassani successfully built his very first Monoblock.

During a business trip in the early 1970’s, Mr. Bassani assessed the North American packaging market and recognized that there was a need for technology-driven quality-built packaging equipments. Determined to introduce European technology to North America, he made provision to move the company to Montreal, Quebec (Canada) in 1979.

Capmatic focused on delivering high quality craftsmanship and customized solutions to its customers. Partnering with a network of strategic alliances, Capmatic penetrated the North American packaging market by becoming the manufacturer arms for several leading packaging suppliers. In 1996, to accommodate the growing numbers of projects, Capmatic moved to a 75,000 sq. ft. facility, which provided sufficient space for a 2-shift manufacturing operation and general administration.

In 2001, as a strategic move to provide better services to its customers, Capmatic disengaged its relationship with packaging suppliers and initiated direct sales and marketing campaigns to its customers and end-users. Today, with over 40 years of experience and success in serving the Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic, Food, Beverage, Chemical, Nutritional and Health Care Industries. Capmatic continues to stun the competition with new machine models combining methods and systems at the cutting edge of today’s technology. Capmatic’s packaging team totals 100 employees and is growing every year. During an official ceremony at the PMMI exhibition in Chicago on October 30th 2006 and in front of a crowed group, Mr. Lavinio Bassani after an extraordinary and esteemed carrier in the Packaging world for over 42 years has announced the appointment of his sons to lead Capmatic. Alioscia Bassani is President and Loris Bassani as Vice President.
